If you’d told me several years ago I would be writing a good portion of my senior project on fashion in the 1920’s, I would have thought you were on crack.

Big K.R.I.T. is (or at least last summer was) the new shit. Like a sort of southern Kanye, he is frequently outshined by the power of his beats and guest spots, but is a great all-around artist.

word. I tend to fee the most alone among others.

On Saturday night the staff of Jim’s Place came back to my frat house and played this tune. So much to talk about here, but then you can dance/sing along.
Also, she wrote “Party in the U.S.A.”

Being wrong sucks. But today, I had a near death experience with some baseball-sized hailstones, and decided honesty is important. And there are worse people to be wrong to and about, my sister and Nicki Minaj being the two.
I have been listening to this for days. And watching the awesome video. Maybe better than the 6’7 video.
This is not going to put to rest the whole Disney-rules-the-UK’s-nukes-through-its-control-of-the-Trilateral-Commission conspiracy theory that we just made up.

Sometimes I don’t get that Madonna thing.
Sometimes I really do.
I hate people who talk about how much better and more wholesome music “used to be.”
But, there is a sense of exceptionalism surrounding Prince. Phenomenal musician, pro-love, anti-hate and anti-music industry, maybe as prolific as Lil’ Wayne - this man is something else.
The dancing and costuming here celebrates all kinds of desires.
A few summers ago, my friend Jake and I pledged to listen to exculsively Prince all summer. We made it several weeks, until we noticed each other wearing headphones all the time - he had discovered Pleasure P, I Slim Thug.
This little gem he found will always be one of my favorites - Prince’s reworking of the classic power-ballad.
So spot on…Murs has this way of being so honest that it doesn’t matter if all of his personas contradict themselves - that’s why there’s a Murs song for every feeling.
